Halloween Baking | WEEKEND WIND UP #50

Here is another Halloween treat for you:

Halloween gives me another reason to make shortbread cookie using my Pacman cookie cutters to make little ghosts!

The dough consisted of 150 g margarine, 100 g butter, 1 cup icing sugar, 1 1/2 cups cornflour, 1 1/2 cups plain flour, 1 egg white and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.

I applied the royal icing using a piping bag for outlining the cookies and a teaspoon for the flooding, later I applied gel colours to draw the little faces and an occasional blood stain to make them look even more spooky.

Happy Halloween baking!

By the way, if you are looking for some hints with your icing, have a look at sugarbelle’s page and you’ll find some great advice and even some videos!

You can find a recipe and tutorial on how to make royal icing here on CakeJournal.

Looking forward to hear about your Halloween!

  1. Fair enough, Bella. Baking takes up a lot of time and sometimes it’s very hard to incorporate in day-to-day life – and store-bought cookies can be very delicious, too. 😀

  2. Lady, they look as cute as they look delicious! I wish I had the time to bake. Lately my idea of cranking out homemade goodies is donning an apron, throwing some flour on my face, and opening a store-bought pack of cookies. Ready! 🙂
