Life Changing

So here is just a little list of three preeeetty trivial things that yet had an impact of my life.

Wasn’t that easy to decide on one book, song and bunch of lyrics, because there are so many that had an impact on my life somehow, but I think I made a pretty good choice. So have a look at mine and tell me yours!

I’d like to invite you all, to take the questions over to your own blog and fill in your own answers.

However, if you do so, I’d like you to link back to this post here, please.

Now, find out about my inner self – and then show us yours! I’m looking forward to read your answers!

So these were my life-changing things, what are yours?

The Sound of Music | WEEKEND WIND UP#9

“MUSIC is my life” –  what a cliche.

But music is my life, really.

In the mornings, instead of a normal alarm, my stereo goes off playing (currently) Richie Sambora or The Feelers to wake me.

As soon as I’m awake, my mind plays non-stop a significant song. Sometimes it can be cool (when I think of someone and Bruce Springsteen gives a private concert in my mind and sings “Devils & Dust” unplugged in my mind), sometimes it is really annoying (when it’s a song I really don’t like at all that is being played repeatedly in my mind!).

While running down the little path next to the river to try out my new running shoes, I hear Robbie Williams, The Pretenders and the Spindoctors through my earphones.

Before hopping in the shower, I turn on the little radio in the bathroom to listen to my favourite radio station which plays The Rolling Stones or Queen.

When I drive, I plug my iPod into the stereo and listen to Razorlight (“Wire To Wire”), Pearl Jam (“Just Breathe”) or Oasis (“Wonderwall”).

At work in my brother’s restaurant, I slide an Amy MacDonald or the Crash Test Dummies disk into the stereo – and as soon as the last customer is out of the door, I turn the volume up and blast Metallica or Guns N’Roses.

While scribbling in my diary or writing my blog, I have Bon Jovi playing in the background.

And my three favourite movies are “Leading Man(because it’s Jon Bon Jovi’s best movie, the others pretty much sucked, I reckon), Walk The Line” (Reese Witherspoon is the born June Carter!) and “August Rush(because it is an amazing movie about love and music and the love of music).

My motto is: “I Love Rock’n’Roll” and it happened quite a few times that I could honestly say: “The Radio Saved My Life Tonight“.

I play the guitar and the keyboard and I used to have singing lessons (which I gave up when I went to New Zealand).

A visual encounter with parts of my iTunes library looks like that:

The lyrics to “Elgar/Something Inside” by Jonathan Rhys Meyers from the movie “August Rush” are the ones I can relate to most at the moment.

My all-time favourite: “Living On A Prayer” by Bon Jovi ♫

The song that reminds me of a special encounter: “You could be mine” by Guns N’Roses ♫

A song I discovered in New Zealand: “Cavalry” by Midnight Youth ♫

The song I learned at singing class: “Ironic” by Alanis Morisette ♫

My all-time favourite live song: “Keep The Faith” by Bon Jovi ♫

A song I used to play on the guitar fairly often: “Wake Me Up When September Ends” by GreenDay ♫

A song I listen to when angry: “Sad But True” by Metallica ♫

One of my favourite SingStar songs: “Papa Don’t Preach” by Madonna ♫

The most romantic song of all time: “If I Can’t Have Your Love” by Richie Sambora ♫

One song I can always listen to and never get sick of: “You Got It” by Roy Orbison ♫

My favourite song from Pretty Woman, the movie (except for “Pretty Woman”, the song): “Listen To Your Heart” by Roxette ♫

♫ And last but not least the song I always used to sing for my kitten (his name was Johnny): “Johnny B.” by The Hooters ♫

Do you like music or does it even play an important role in your life? What are your favourite songs?
